2 Year Stats….and One Month Stats!

December 17, 2011 By Serena Leave a Comment

Today I took the boys for their 2-year check-up (Ohene) and one-month check-up (Kojo). Ohene’s status are synonymous with Kwabena’s at age 2:

Height – 36″

Weight – 31 lbs

Kwabena was 36.75″, so yeah, comparable. I think Kwabena’s foot was a little bigger, too. Wow, another big boy!

Ohene did NOT cooperate so nicely at the dr. office. Well, he was okay, except for the fact that he thinks it’s okay to go over and kick the nurse!! WTH!! It’s sort of funny, but totally NOT funny. It’s actually a little embarrassing that he does that. I have no idea why. He doesn’t do it with hostility, but he definitely must be harboring something inside to think it’s okay to kick a total stranger!!!!

His appointment was fine. He even did well with the Hep A vaccination, and the MMR.

Kojo’s appointment was fine, except for the fact that the Dr. noticed that one of his eyes sort of rolls out. I had sort of noticed this, too, at home, but I don’t think it was something I had pinpointed as odd. But when she mentioned it, I thought to myself, “Yeah, I did notice that….” She said she thinks it’s fine, but to just watch it, to see if it’s something that he does a lot, and does randomly. I didn’t really follow what she was saying in terms of it being okay that it rolls out if it happens at times he’s looking at me. I think it actually rolls out at various times even when he’s NOT looking at me. And now I’m worried that something could be wrong with my perfect little baby!

She said to just mention it at the 2-month check-up. I think next time I will see another Dr., just so I can get another opinion on it. And supposedly, if those muscles are weak or something, then he’d see an eye dr. and they can patch it, which is where they put a patch on the good eye in order to get the weak eye working better. But, who knows if that is what they’d do, or if there would be other treatment necessary. We shall see. I can only pray that he is okay. 🙁

On to his stats– My little monkey is now:

Weight: 10 lbs, 7 oz (Gained just over 3 lbs since birth)

Height: 22 2/3″ (grew 2 2/3″!!!!)

Head: 15 1/4″ (I think his head grew by 1 1/4″!!!)

Man….babies grow so quickly!!!

Anyhow, all is well! I would write more, but the baby is stirring, and Kwasi wants me to cut his toenails. How fun! NOT! lol
