Merriam-Webster defines crawling as: “to move or progress slowly or laboriously”. According to that definition, we’ve definitely got a crawler on our hands! Lately I’ve been noticing that Kwabena is doing baby push-ups and trying to get his knees underneath of him. He can’t quite coordinate the 2 actions yet, but he’s getting close! This evening I noticed that he was literally scooting himself across the carpet! Yes, it was definitely slow and laborious, but he was making process! He was moving himself, inches by inches, and it was amazing! I think that within the next 2-3 weeks, he will be a serious crawler!OMG….is our house baby proof?! When I walk around my house, I see things that are not safe: a dime lying on the floor (choking hazard)…..a sliver of paper from a ripped piece of junk mail (choking hazard)….an ink pen (can poke out his eye)…..What am I waiting for?! We’ve got a crawler here…a crawler that likes to put every single object in his mouth.I think this weekend the priority will be baby-proofing the house. This morning I had to drop off Kwabena at daycare. Kwasi usually does this, but since he was working from home, and I was headed to my company holiday party, today it was my duty.I rushed him inside, and then sped off for I-95 towards Annapolis. As I hit thick traffic, I looked over and saw his milk storage bag on my front seat. Damn!Luckily, his daycare provider has built up a nice “emergency” supply of my breastmilk in her freezer, so I didn’t have to turn around to drop off his milk. Whew! But I have to be more careful about forgetting his milk. How could I forget his milk?! Moms aren’t supposed to do that. But I forgive myself. I can only imagine the other things I will forget on my journey of Motherhood. Just you wait, Serena.
