December 20, 2006 – Kwabena Goes to the Doctor

December 22, 2006 By Serena Leave a Comment

Our poor baby has a cold! :(About a week and a half ago, he started coughing sporadically. It wasn’t enough to concern me. However, in the last day or so, it’s become more forceful, a little more frequent, and congested. We took him to the dr., which was a joke. Since when have pediatricians become cold and rushed? Aren’t they supposed to be kid- and mom-friendly??We get there and this dr. barely glances at me as I question him about giving Kwabena a daily multivitamin…about giving Kwabena water…about using Baby Vicks… The dr. answers me briefly, succinctly, vaguely, as if my questions were not that important. I have gained more info from my own research instead of this guy!The good news is that Kwabena doesn’t have bronchitis or pneumonia. Most likely it’s the remnants of a cold. The bad news is that he’s got a pediatrician who writes prescriptions for medicines that are discontinued and cannot be found at any pharmacies! From now on, Kwabena won’t be seeing this particular dr.I can’t wait for my baby to get better!
