Yesterday was Thanksgiving. We had a pretty good day–basically just stayed inside all day. We didn’t even step foot outside, which was fine by me. Today it’s even colder–only 45 degrees but cold and windy as hell.
Yesterday afternoon Kwabena took a nice, long 2.5 hour nap, after he protested from his room in a sing-song voice for a good 10 minutes, “I don’t want want to go to sleep!” I ignored him and watched TV, knowing damn well he would be asleep in minutes. LOL. Sure enough, he was! Kwasi and I watched that Beyonce movie, “Obessed”, while Kwabena napped, too.
In the evening we made some dinner. I had stopped at Trader Joe’s earlier in the week and tasted a delicious Tofurky they had there. YUMMY!! We made that, along with some sweet potatoe dish from TJ’s, and some kale salad. Oh–and Pumpkin Peanut Butter Pecan pie–Kwasi’s speciality! Delicious! It felt very “homey,” with the Christmas lights….yummy-smelling dinner….Oh, but Kwabena was NOT interested in sitting down for dinner, so he barely touched it.
As he stated last night very nonchalantly, “When I care about my food, I’m going to eat my food” Oh, I guess that settles it. Not gonna for ya, buddy!
Oh well–I told him he would either eat it later, or just go to bed with no dinner. He actually went to bed with no dinner OR snack, and didn’t even complain of hunger! This morning he wolfed down 2 bowls of Cheerioes, so the boy MUST have been starvin’ this morning!
Today we just hung out around the house, as well, leaving around 1 p.m. to hit the bank, then head to Buy Buy Baby to buy breast pump accessories and veggie duck sheets. We stopped at our (used to be) favorite vegetarian restaurant that we’ve been going to for YEARS, and can you believe a frickin’ ROACH crawled right across our table, under our plates, while eating?? I’m totally grossed out. I can’t believe we even paid for the food, AND left a tip. And the nerve of the waitress to bring a piece of “free” pumpkin pie?! I mean, wouldn’t it be obvious that I don’t want to eat my food….ANY food??….from there after being ambushed by a roach during dinner??? UGH….Never going back there again. I don’t care how common roaches might be in eating establishments–if I see a roach there, you best believe it’s killed anything appetizing for me!
Anyhow, after lunch, we stopped at Target for groceries, and Kwabena took $3.00 of his own money to buy a Dinoco Lighinging McQueen car. Afterwards, we stopped by Kwasi’s mom’s house for a little bit.
So this concludes the day….it’s 9 p.m. and Kwabena’s just gone down for the night….soon to be asleep. And I am going to finish the last book of the Twilight series! 🙂
