Holding Grudges

November 21, 2009 By Serena Leave a Comment

Jeez….if I thought Kwasi was stubborn and held grudges, Kwabena is even worse! The other night Kwabena got pissed and began crying because he wanted to watch Sprout before bed, and Kwasi and Nana were already watching some movie (that was not kid-appropriate). So of course he wanted us to leave the room and finish getting Kwabena ready for bed in another room. Tears….crying…blame…. and a bedtime story later, Kwabena was still fretting over the argument. He told me, “Mommy, I’m still worried. Daddy made me cry!” (LOL…..love his new use of the word “worried.”).

I tried to explain to him every which way that we all have to share the TV, and that sometimes people cry, but then they make up and are okay again. I thought I had explained things pretty good, only later to hear whimpering cries coming from his room. I went in to check on him and got a full-fledge shed of tears and accusations at how Daddy made him cry, and that’s NEVER listening to Daddy EVER again. LOL

It took a good 45 minutes for him to settle down, with Kwasi going in twice to apologize and make up with Kwabena. Whew! Very abnormal behavior…..Not sure if it has something to do with the baby coming….or if he just was feeling extra sensitive that night. But whatever it was, I hope he doesn’t continue with that type of behavior!
