Sharing Memories With the Kids

January 31, 2016 By Serena Leave a Comment

The kids just woke up a little bit ago on this Sunday morning, coming down to my basement office the way they do each morning, and instead of finding me deep in blogging-related stuff, they found me pouring over old posts from this blog.

We scanned through pictures and old entries from the earlier years, while they laughed at stuff I had nearly forgotten: Kwabena’s adventures in Kindergarten and getting “oops” notes for talking about “guns and chainsaws” in class (he got a big kick out of that!), to Ohene kicking the nurse at his 2-year-check-up, to reading about Kojo’s baby days.

Of course, the pull of electronics pulled them away just now, but Kwabena did ask if they could come back later to read more. It makes me happy to know that I’m re-dedicating myself to continuing this blog and sharing parts of their childhood with them that they don’t remember ever happening.

What better gift for our family? 🙂
