“Sit!”

January 23, 2011 By Serena Leave a Comment

Ohene has been doing the cutest thing. He stands up on his little chair, smiles the biggest smile, points his finger up and down to the floor, and says, “Sit!” Sometimes he says “Sit down!” LOL!! I noticed him doing it today because I say that to him all the time. Too cute!

I’m sorry that I don’t blog as much as I should. Considering that this will one day be published in my next blog book, and that my memory SUCKS and that this is the only way I remember shit, I *better* start making it priority!!

Things are going well this way. Our house is in “shambles” as we finish unpacking, cleaning, and trying to paint nearly ever surface in this big ‘ole house! I do what I can on the weekends, when I can strap Henny Poo on my back (see my other blog for updates on the house). This weekend was no exception. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I had not cleaned the bathrooms even once since we’d moved in (I know–YUCK), but I just haven’t had time. Today I made time! Even though they are outdated still, at least they are clean and look tidy. You can’t imagine how irritating it can be living in a house with utter chaos and clutter. I expect it will be this way for another, oh, 4 months maybe??

Kwabena is doing okay. The little shithead kicked me in my face today. NOT funny. We were on the sofa watching Freaky Friday (which was really enjoyable, by the way, since I never take time to just sit down and watch TV, alone, or with kids!). At one point, however, we were joking around, and he was laughing, “I’m going to kick you in the face!” The little fucker did, too! I sent him to his room immediately, where he stayed for about 25 minutes, and then I took away TV for the rest of the day, as well as tomorrow, too. No way he will get away with something so NOT funny. Grrrr……I should have kicked him back to see if he liked it. LOL

On Friday I started Weight Watchers. Now, I have always thought of Weight Watchers for people that want to lose, say, 50 pounds or something. Not people like me that want to lose 10-15. But, since one of my best girlfriends, Hakimah, was planning to start, and she was super excited for me to join her (online), I decided to sign up. I figured, may as well try a structured eating plan and see how it works for me. I’m not happy with the way my body looks lately. I was 150 pounds for the longest time. Then Kwabena came along, and I was able to get it to 153 postpartum (after 9+ hard months of working out and eating right!!!). When I got pregnant with Ohene, I was 153. Now, I am 165. I had lost about 10 pounds early 2010, but then I fell off the wagon, plateaued, and had actually gained back several pounds. I think I had gotten to 163 or something. And lately, I was at 167. Now I’m at 165, and started WW in order to get back to my 150 pounds.

I don’t like the way I have muffin top….The way my fat stomach sticks out and over everything I wear. And I just feel bigger all over. I am ready to feel trim, slim, and sexy again! I have started going to the gym now that my eating is under control, and I know that it’s only a matter of time before I get my sexy back 🙂

Kwasi is doing well. Same ‘ole with him. He also gets lazy, like me, in the evenings after the kids go to bed. When we should be doing house stuff, we’re on the computer (ahem–like tonight), or watching TV (him, usually, not me). One of my goals for 2011 was to get more sleep (Nourishment), so I have been allowing myself to fall asleep more often while putting Ohene to sleep. Last night I went to bed around 8:30 p.m. and woke around 7 a.m.! Well, not straight through. Little Ohene likes to wake up several times per night, whether for milk, or just to stir, and because he’s sleeping in our bed, it disturbs me. I want my room back! Soon, very soon, after we get his set up….

Well, I am sure there is more to write. And pics to post. But not right now. It’s 10:36 a.m., and I am going to head to be veerrrry soon. Night!
