….There really hasn’t been much going on with us lately! Kwasi has been back a little over a week now, and it’s sooooo good to have him back (at times!!!! Sorry, baby, had to throw that in there; but you know I love you). You wouldn’t believe how Kwabena clung to him! He flung his arms and legs around Kwasi, face lit up like it was Christmas, crying out, “Daddy!! Daddy! Daddy!” Man…..it was awesome. 🙂
I am working on another vest for Kwabena, as well as matching vests for Kwabena and Ohene, only the matching ones will be dark blue with tan edging. I have also been doing a lot of listening to Books on CDs, mostly while on my way to and work. I just finished “The Host” by Stephenie Meyer, the same author who wrote the “Twilight” series. It was really good! A bit science fictioning at first, which can throw people off. But I highly recommend you continue, because it’s pretty good!
Homebuying
Okay……..once again……I have decided to put this on hold ONCE….AGAIN. It’s so tempting to look at homes, and salivate over having a backyard, and a good school district, and SPACE for an office and sewing/knitting/crafts room! But……*sigh*….then I wake up and realize that it’s just not the best decision at this time. Hell–I’m about to go on maternity leave in a couple months. How stupid would that be to increase housing expenses right before taking a reducted pay-cut for maternity leave? LOL So, after Kwasi and I discussed things, we both agreed that being in a good school district is important. But since we’ve got a little wiggle room before Kwabena starts kindergarten in 2011, then here’s the plan:
1. Change our spending habits (e.g. eat home-cooked meals more often; less eating out).
2. Keep tracking spending, to get accurate accounts of what we both spend money on.
3. Take maternity leave.
4. Evaluate expenses and cash flow once we have 2 kids in daycare (around summer 2010), to see if buying a home would even be possible while having 2 in daycare.
5. If we find that there is no way we can buy a home with 2 kids in daycare, then we will wait until 2011 (hopefully the market is affordable), around the time that Kwabena is about to start school, to find a home in a good school district. Or, we may consider moving into the townhouse we rent, which is 1 hour away. Not idea to move there, but definitely a possibility that could work.
🙂 Nice to have a plan.
