Well, I decided to update this blog, even though it’s more than a year since I’ve written anything. I figured it would be a good way to keep people up-to-date with where things are in our life. It’s titled “Kwabena Gyata Appiah” but I guess we can consider it a family blog for those that want to stay current with where our family is!
Kwabena is now going on 21 months! April 5th is fast approaches….and before you know it, July 5th will be here, and we’ll be asking ourselves, “Where the hell did the time GO?? How could he be 2 years old already??”
Kwabena is SO MUCH FUN, too! He has really made motherhood look easy. Not only was he a piece of cake baby, but he’s a pretty easy toddler. Well, he’s got his temper tantrums, like any other toddler, but more often than not, he’s soooo funny and always smiling and laughing!
His latest funny things are to hang from anything that will support his weight and say, “Monkey!” Other than pretending to be a monkey, he absolutely loves “choo choo trains.” A couple months ago, we discovered Thomas & Friends, and he’s developed an obsession with his trains. He used to beg me to watch “choo choo” on tv, but thankfully, after “weaning” him from it, he’s able to watch it here and there without completely being obsessed about it. Thank GOD! How many times can we watch the same episodes of Thomas & Friends?! LOL
Kwabi is so smart, too! He amazes me how he can count to 10…..knows blue, red, green, yellow, purple, and pink! He sometimes confuses green for yellow, but hey, not bad for nearly 21 months!
He also loves “knock-knock” jokes! I used to do these with him all the time, and eventually, he caught on! This morning in the car he was in the back, talking to himself:
“Knock knock?
Who’s there?
Apple”
Then I chimed in and responded, “Applesauce!” And did a funny little laugh, which he emmulates after each “knock-knock” joke! TOO CUTE!
Kwabi has also been using several words together, on his own, and recognizing counts. For example, he will see 2 red balls across the floor and say, “Mommy, 2 red balls.” Amazes me every time!! He’s putting words together, like this morning, when he touched the bag of frozen food or something that I took out of the freezer, he said, “Cold bag!” How adorable he is….
There’s so much more to write! But I promise to keep this site updated, so that everyone can stay connected with us! 🙂
