Well, today marks the first day that I am back to work. I lawfully could have taken 16 weeks of maternity leave, versus the 11 that I took, but I just couldn’t afford to take any more Leave Without Pay. I already took 1 week, which will show up in Friday’s paycheck. That will short-change me enough as it is….
Anyhow, all is well! My day is going great. I even just came back from the gym, feeling totally refreshed and ready to shed these last few pounds.
I called Miss Marilyn this morning to see how the baby is doing, and he has his episodes of crying, where she reports that he wants the breast. Awww…Poor baby! She put him in the car seat, turned slightly, with put a bottle in his mouth, to help simulate nursing and cuddling. My poor baby. I wonder how he will react to me this evening?
Kwabena’s doing well with him there. He keeps reporting to Miss Marilyn when Ohene is crying. LOL He’s so protective!
Pumping is going well! I’ve gotten 5 oz each pumping session, which is good. I don’t think he’s anywhere near 5 oz each feeding yet. I think he’s snacking more than anything.
I can’t wait to see him tonight!
