Last night I was standing in line at Trader Joe’s, and guess what song came on? Kwabena’s song: “BOOGIE NIGHTS”, a catchy disco song by a group called Heatwave!!
I couldn’t help but fondly smile as I thought about how much Kwabena loved this song the day a Facebook friend posted it on Facebook and Kwabena asked me to click on the video link (and he commented that the singers were dressed like “monsters.” Yeah, I guess 1970’s wear was a bit strange, Kwabena).
It had been a while since we’d heard it. But hearing it last night brought back memories of our dancin’ and singin’ to it. So I told him about hearing it, and he reminded me this morning that we must hear it again. So there I stood, along with Kwasi and Kwabena, at 7:45 a.m. this morning, jammin’ to Boogie Nights in our bedroom (um, and doing the shuffle) before I left for work.
Ahhhhh….Good times 🙂
