Okay….so the title of this post if a bit misleading. You are probably thinking that, like most young kids his age, Kwabena got his first haircut. Oh, noooo…….
So I came back from my overnight business trip on Monday, at which time Kwasi tells me that Kwabena cut his hair! Um….okay, I’m expecting a little snippet of locks, but what Kwasi pulled out what a big chunk of blond curly ‘fro that he had safely tucked away inside a folded piece of paper (as, I guess, a souvenir).
Kwabena must have been embarrassed or scared of my reaction, because he kept saying, “I don’t want to tell Mommy what happened” and burying his face in my chest. I was cracking up laughing, though! Where did it come from? From which part did he snip his hair? Looks like he cut it directly in the front, along his hairline. If you can believe it, it looked pretty cute. ;-O
The next question is, when did it happen? How? Well, Kwasi let him sleep with scissors for his nap!! These are scissors that I bought for scrapbooking, which cut paper decoratively. Kwabena loves playing with them and cutting slips of paper. So I guess Kwasi went to put him down for a nap and Kwabena wanted to sleep with…uh…scissors. Instead of dealing with a tantrum over not getting his way, I guess sleeping with the scissors was the…uh….better choice. Hm…–yeah–right.
Anyhow, it was pretty funny, if you ask me….Not the best choice, clearly, but funny that he cut such a big chunk of hair! Silly boy….
