That’s all I can say about it: fucking traffic. Thunderstorms this morning totally wrecked traffic. I had planned to leave a little later, anyhow, because I was waiting to see how Ohene’s fever (or lack of) was this morning when he woke. And because everyone else must have been waiting out the storm, it was a traffic nightmare today.
It took me literally 2 hours to go about 4 miles. Part of the 2 hours (about 30 minutes) was a total waste, only to get to a police roadblock due to flooding on New Hampshire Ave., and was turned around. I decided, “Screw it,” and went back home. Thankfully the back roads were open to home, because otherwise it would have taken a good hour or more to get home.
I guess it was a good decision, because this afternoon we went for a family walk, for 2.5 hours. It was nice. We saw a man around the late feeding the turtles and fish, and wouldn’t you know this big-ass snapping turtle came out and started eating the big chunks of bread! Kwabena loved it!
Poor Ohene was so exhausted today. He missed out on his usual naps. So most of the walk he wanted me to hold him. Kwasi kept joking that he sounded like Gary, SpongeBob’s pet snail, because of the whimpering sounds that Ohene makes. LOL
