Our condo has been on the market for 2 weeks now. We’ve had only 2 showings. And I *think* they showed up. Our lock box didn’t have a set of keys in it, so there was no notice sent to our agent, Vanda, to verify if someone used the keys or not. I now have keys to put in there, so the showing we have this Saturday at 2 p.m. will show if they showed up or not.
I guess I can say that I am okay that it’s been a little slow. It’s sort of allowed me to get used to the change. I adapt to change quickly, but there are some things going on that we have to clear up first, like the fact that our Hagerstown townhouse has no renter yet. We need to get a renter before we sell our condo and put a contract on another house. We need that security that we are not going to have to pay for a new house AND the townhouse.
A girl with really bad credit really wanted the house, but I didn’t feel comfortable giving it to her. Even with a trial run, I didn’t want to do it. I would have rather waited for someone else to come along, so that is what we’re doing. We will find someone good. I know it.
So not only are we looking for a renter, and a buyer, but we’re trying to buy a house, too! A single family home in Columbia. The neighborhoods are so beautiful there, and I love the homey, cozy feel of the neighborhoods. It’s about 7-12 miles from where we are now, which could be eventful in rush-hour traffic, but I think an additional 30 minutes is worth getting a nice home with a backyard for the kids. It’s all about sacrifice. I’ll sacrifice some time and more traffic for a better home.
So the next steps are to go look at some more homes….continue working on getting a renter, and if nothing comes through, then we will have to move to another option, possibly using a management company, or listing it in MLS. I’m hoping I can just rent it myself, though. Save money.
Whatever happens, though, all will be perfectly fine 🙂
