All by himself, too!!! Seriously, I’m excited, can’t you tell? 🙂 Only a mom can get so excited about poop, eh?
This weekend he wanted to sit on his potty, where he peed, and we made a big deal about it (because it WAS a big deal, you know). I left his diaper off to help his little butt, which has a slight rash on it, air out.
I was afraid he would poop on the carpet, but decided to chance it anyhow, for the sake of clearing up his butt. Imagine my delight and surprise when he ran back the hallway to the bathroom and sat down on the potty (which, thank God, already had the lid up waiting in CASE he decided to come back to it on his own, which he did!!).
After a couple seconds, he stood up and said, “Look.” And there it was!!! A potty-full of poop!!!
Well, there was also some on the bathroom carpet….his foot….and don’t ASK me how it wound up in a line 3 feet high on the bathroom door. LOL The important thing is that he had made it to the bathroom on his OWN!
Everyday he proves to me that he is growing up and able to handle more and more things on which I misjudged his ability.
I’ve decided that, in the evenings and on the weekends, I will leave him diaperless to give him opportunities to use his potty. I’m sure we’ll have quite a number of accidents on the carpet, but you know what? Who cares. Our little boy is learning how to use the potty!!

Kwabi-isms
KWABI: “That’s not nice.”
ME: “What’s isn’t nice, sweetie?”
KWABI: “Me!”
ME: “Oh, you’re a nice little boy.”
KWABI: “No, I a bad guy!” LOL
(Ummm….I wonder where he got the idea that he was so tough? LOL)
***********
ME: “Ewww, Kwabi, you’ve got a slimy boogie on your hand!”
KWABI: [grinning ear to ear] “You want it??”
ME: “Gross! No, I do NOT want your boogie!” LOL

Go Kwabi! Wait until he gets to the wiping himself phase! That’s where Greggie is — she doesn’t tell me she’s gone and when I come across it claims “I did it! I used the paper!” And sometimes she does the dumping too. Um, yeah, good stuff. Poop and parenting. Hand in hand. You gotta just laugh.
And what’s with the boogies???? My girls think they are just a riot.
OMG!!! Greggie is a trip!! I can just imagine what the rest of this experience will be like! But I’m up for the challenge! 🙂
(Yeah, why are boogies so much fun?) LOL
