More Kwabi-isms

October 6, 2008 By Serena 2 Comments

Kwabi never ceases to amaze me with language and our little conversations. I have to write them down or else I forget them!

Here you go….

(Scene: Me standing on a chair trying to grab something high in the cabinet in the kitchen).

KWABI: “Get down, Mommy!”

ME: “Why, sweetie?”

KWABI: “You going to fall down, Mommy!”

HAHAHA…..So cute!

*************

Here’s another one…..

(Scene: Driving down the highway last night. I had JUST put my window down about 3 inches)

KWABI: “Put that window up, Mommy.”

ME: “Why? I want to put my window down. It’s going to get hot in here.”

KWABI: [louder now] “Put that window up!”

ME: “Why??”

KWABI: “Because….it’s too much wind.”

Awwww……

And last night I asked him what fire trucks do, and he told me “Put fires out.” So then I asked him what do police officers do, and he told me “trouble.” So then I explained more to him that when people do not stop at red lights or if they drive too fast, police officers will pull them over. Then he proceeded to tell me, “Slow down, Mommy!” And I asked (as I often do just to see what he will say), “Why, sweetie?” and he responded, “Police officer pull you over!” He’s so cute…..I just love to teach him little things like that.

Our latest thing has been to work on learning what red, yellow, and green traffic signals mean, and he can accurately tell me that red means “stop” and yellow means “slow down” and green means “go.” I also point out all the red STOP signs, and I’ll (hold up traffic behind us, lol) and ask him to spell it for me. He will look at it and spell “T-S-O-P” but hey, he’s learning!

So cute. I love watching their verbal development! The funnest thing for me right now is eavesdropping on Alex and Gregorie’s conversations! They are a riot!

That’s got to be really fun watching them interact! I like easedropping on Kwabi while he’s playing and he doesn’t know I’m looking. CRAZY! It’s hilarious the things our kids do and say….. LOL
