This is the second time in less than a week that someone at a restaurant has told me “she is so cute” when they looked at Kwabena.
HUH??
Okay, so I know that the people have only been able to see Kwabi’s top half as he stood up in the booth and turned around backwards to their booth, to play peek-a-boo or to laugh at them.
But does our son really resemble a GIRL??!!
Last Sunday while at Uno’s Pizzeria, the lady in the next booth mistakenly referred to him as a “she” and then she asked, “Oh, ‘she’ or ‘he'”? I told her “he.” She said, “OH! I saw those long eye lashes and assumed he was a girl, but then I realized I should ask!”
And last night at TGIFridays, it happened again.
Maybe they couldn’t see his military-printed shorts….or his obviously boyish sandals…..but they could only see the long eye lashes, the beautiful smile, the blond/light brown curly hair……
Oh, and I should add, while going through security at the airport on our way to Canada, the TSA guy thought Kwabi was a girl, too!
Maybe his clothes aren’t boyish enough? I think I dress him boyishly……
Oh, well. Maybe he’s just a very pretty boy. LOL

Serena- why do you perceive it as an insult? Come on…you can’t tell at this age except for hairstyle, clothing, jewelry, etc. And that’s all so ridiculously imposed on us. Let him be who he is and don’t worry about it.
