- Ohene now weighs 12.8 lbs, and has seen to outgrow his 3-6 month sleepers! I’ve now moved him into the 9-month sleepers. Crazy! He turns 8 weeks old in a couple of days! Compared to Kwabena’s stats, Kwabena was 11 lbs 15 oz. at his 2-month checkup. Ohene’s already got him beat, even though he started out at 7 lbs 7 oz (compared to Kwabena’s 8 lbs 4 oz).
- Kwabena liked to visit YouTube to watch videos of Spider Man and Batman. If we aren’t careful, he may turn into a couch potato! Time to cut off all the electronics for him…
- Kwabena and I are starting to do “Word of the Day” again….Only, this time, it’s not so much about learning a new vocab word. Now, “Word of the Day’ is a word that we choose from one of his bedtime stories, and we review how it’s spelled. And whenever that word comes up throughout the story, I place my finger there and let him read the word. I ordered the LeapFrog Tag reading system for him, so that he can begin reading a bit on his own and recognizing more words. Currently he knows:
play
no
go
and
the
stop
up
down - Kwabena wears a size 11 shoe, but his foot has grown, and now needs a size 12! He’s 40 lbs, and 43 and 3/4″ tall! He’s grown about 2.5″ since July!!! Someone recently implied that the reason he is growing so fast could be the (genetically modified) soy or food products we eat. Maybe there are unforeseen affects to the things we eat (but–hey–put that burger down, because that will affect your health, then, too!). But my boy has always been ahead of the curve, and he’s got 2 above-average height parents, so no–he’s just fine. 🙂
