Funny story that happened last week at lunch…….Hakimah and I weren in the gallery grabbing lunch, and this lady in line asked me, eyes wide opened, “You look like you’re about to EXPLODE!!! When are you DUE??” Well, I decided to be a smart ass, because I was totally annoyed with her telling me that. No, shit, lady, I’m 9 months pregnant almost!!!
So I responded, straight-faced, “January.” (HAHAH, I’m due November 19th!)
He mouth dropped open even more.
LADY: “Is there TWO in there?!”
ME, again, straight-faced, “Three.”
Ahhhh……pick your face up, lady 🙂 Let this serve as a lesson not to tell pregnant women they’re about to “explode.”
ANYHOW………..A little update on the baby. Everything is going well! I’ve gained a whopping 50 lbs. Hard to believe. I just found the kids’ baby books in the garage, and I see that I only gained 36 pounds with Ohene. OMG, wow…… I realize, though, that with him, I never ate much food. Well, not junk food. And I still gained 36 pounds. I’m just a “gainer” when I get pregnant. Couple that with eating junk food, like I did with Kwabena and Kojo, and it’s a recipe for “fat-ass.” LOL
I feel HUGE right now. Moving is tough if I’ve been sitting or lying down for too long. I can feel a fat roll in my next when I tilt my head back too far. My legs look and feel massive. My thighs rub together. My crotch seems to want to stay hot and moist allll the time (I know, sorry, TMI…..). Even my forearms seem bigger!!
I’m really looking forward to my exercise regime when I deliver. I will start working as immediately as I can. Since it will be cold, I’ll have to leave the baby home with Kwasi during the day, which should work out ok. And eventually, I’ll be able to do my cardio bootcamp (Tae-Bo!), and I will begin running again. Can’t wait!!!!!
I’m getting a little nervous about labor and delivery. I think it’s because I know what to expect, and I know how intense it can be. I looked at Kwabena and Ohene’s stats, and Kwabena’s head was 1″ bigger than Ohene’s!! No wonder he was tougher to get out! I can only hope Kojo doesn’t have a huge noggin, LOL. Something closer to Ohene’s size!
Speaking of Ohene…..OMG, what a sweetie 🙂 He’s just a sweet kid. And so funny the things he does! He will squint his eyes, point that little finger, and shout, “NO!!” Cute; really cute 🙂 Tonight at Nana Ba’s house, he hit her in the face or something, while doing his “NO!” thing, and I put him in time out when he wouldn’t apologize. After sitting there for 30 seconds, he slid off the seat and came in to her, without my asking or telling, and said, “Sorry” and gave her a hug. OMG, the cutest thing ever!!! But 3 minutes later, he was kicking Kwabena when Kwabena wouldn’t move off of the wooden elephant where HE wanted to sit. LOL Again, he apologized. Little stinker!
He’s speaking so much these days!!! He says anything and everything! The funniest thing he says is when he repeats Kwabena’s “I farted!” statements. There mimics Ohene, “I farted!” LOL
Yesterday we had a great day, by going to the thrift store…….where I found that cheap (but sturdy!) director’s chair for $5, and a nice mirror for $25……Then we went to Georgetown Cupcakes (see above photos. For some reason, Blogger isn’t allowing me to cut and paste them anywhere, so I can’t insert them here. BOO!) Anyhow, after cupcakes, we went to the toy store across the street, which was fun (playing with wind-up toys). Then we stopped for pizza bagels and juice (which I ate nearly the whole damn bagels–picky boys), and then we stopped at Target for costumes. Kwabena picked Transformers ($20, ugh…..) and I got a monkey costume for Ohene (another $20……..damn!). But it was too cute to pass up. And he will need a costume for Halloween, especially since we’ll be going trick or treating this year, too.
Anyhow, shopping with 2 boys–crazy!! I should know better not to do it at the end of the afternoon when they are more tired and cranky and active. Stupid me! But unless I wait until Kwasi gets home from the barber shop, it usually just makes sense to take them. I usually have to hem Kwabena up, by the neck, to get him to listen. Poor thing, but what else can you do when he won’t listen? And Ohene, at Target, wanted to get out of the cart and the whole time I had to fight him to just sit down. Sometimes I have these little “out of body” experiences when I look at us from the outside, and I see this pregnant mom struggling to manage two busy bodies at the store. LOL Hilarious at times!!
Anyhow, I could go on and on, but it’s 12:34 a.m. and I should head to bed. Clinic tomorrow. Oh boy :-/ I hate going to clinic. But it pays the bills, right?
Night!
