Delayed

November 13, 2010 By Serena Leave a Comment

First, thankfully Kwasi and I are back on good terms. Still, he’s a pain in the ass. And yes, I hope you are reading this, Kwasi, because you ARE! 🙂 But as I mentioned, we’re over the bickering (for now), and now it’s on to getting to closing!

We were supposed to close in the condo this afternoon, but we found out yesterday morning that we will be delayed until Monday or Tuesday. Probably Wednesday at the latest. Vanda is putting on her “bitch” hat (I thought she wore that all the time, anyhow…..??) and is putting pressure on the Buyer’s lender and agent to get us to closing ASAP.

There’s this issue of us needing to be fully approved in time to go to closing on Durant, our new house. Our loan officer said that as long as we go to closing on my condo before 11/24/10, then we should be able to close on 11/30/10. That, of course, is contingent upon whether our Sellers and the Seller’s Agent negotiate with us surrounding my loan. When we submitted the offer, we didn’t make the offer contingent on the sale of our place. But, because of some unforeseen circumstances, yes, we have to close on the condo FIRST in order to get full approval of the loan. The listing agent, Linda Beer, is starting to root for questions about our financing and stuff, so we’re trying to take this weekend to stall her, while waiting for my closing to happen.

Ahhhhh……real estate. You gotta love it!

I personally think everything will be okay with our new house. I am sure our Buyer for the condo pulls through. And I am confident that our Seller’s will stick with us and we’ll be able to file whatever extension we’ll need to get to closing on 11/30/10. Like with me, there’s NO WAY IN HELL I would want to yank this contract from my Buyer in order to find someone else. I would rather work with what I have. And I believe my Seller’s would feel the same way. So, let’s get this all worked out so that everyone can be happy.

🙂
