Kwabena’s had a great week at daycare! He was off Monday and Tuesday due to a cough and cold, but was back on Wednesday, ready to start doing his preschool work with Miss Marilyn. He did great! He’s doing his work very nicely–coloring, tracing, etc. I was so proud of him I took him to Friendly’s restaurant (we invited Nana Ba along) for french fries and a grilled cheese. We didn’t have much time there because Nana Ba had to get back home to get picked up for church. But she said she just had to come along because she couldn’t say “no” to Kwabena 🙂
Afterward, Kwabena dropped Nana Ba off and went to McDonald’s for a chocolate milkshake for him, and a hot fudge sundae for me.
We met Kwasi at home (he went for Happy Hour with a couple friends), and then we all went to the Burtonsville Carnival. FUN!!!! But expensive! $1.00 per ticket! WTH?? Each ride was at least 3 tickets (some were 5 tickets??!!). Anyhow, Kwabena eagerly went on the kiddie rides, happily waving to us at each rotation, and at times losing his bearings and waving to absolutely nothing, thinking we were on the other side. LOL He loved it! Kwasi would like to take him back on Sunday evening, but I am doubtful we’ll get back there. We’ll see.
Oh, but I forgot to take my freakin’ camera!!!! Grrrrr…….Hence, no pics 🙁 Might be all the more reason to go back, just to get photo ops 🙂
Oh, and tonight we’re headed to Seth and Nicole’s wedding. Kwabena’s staying with Uncle Kofi and Nana Ba. Should be a fun night! I’ll definitely post pics of that!!!!
Baby Ohene is doing well, too! He’s got his moment of being super-active, and other times, it’s like he’s in a deep sleep. It’s funny to noticed the difference between this pregnancy and my pregnancy with Kwabena. I think Kwabena was much more active in the womb (maybe it was all that SUGAR I was eating, lol). This time around, he’s active at times, but not crazy-active like Kwabena. And even now, Kwabena is the most energetic kid I’ve ever met. So I wonder if Ohene will be the more laid-back child? Anyhow, I love to feel his body parts in there moving around. I can’t quite tell what I am feeling, but I swear I’m feeling knees and heels! 🙂
I am amazed that I have only gained 15 pounds so far. At this time 3 years ago with Kwabena, I was already up 33 pounds! I guess self-control accounts for something. 🙂 I went to the mall earlier in the week and bought 2 pairs of maternity work pants. Can you say “aaaaaahhhhhhh, relief!”? That’s how it felt. I’d been rockin’ my regular pants, unbuttoned all the way, with a knock-off belly band. That can only get me so far. At 25 weeks, it was TIME. So, the new pants are a breath of fresh air. And because they’re so stretchy, I should be able to wear them for the next 3 months until delivery.
I’m still looking cute, though!! Yesterday at work, I hopped in the elevator, and some woman said, “Look at you!” complimenting me on looking cute (I was wearing a cute black dress). I thought she was referring to the belly bump, but she hadn’t even noticed that until a moment later. Then she said, “Oh, and you’re pregnant, too!” Made me feel nice 🙂 Actually, I got several compliments yesterday. If I can maintain this “cuteness” that would make me very happy. With Kwabena, I just started feeling frumpy, probably around 7 or 8 months?? Maybe it’s just written that all women feel disgusting in their last couple months. We shall see! I just feel like if I can maintain my weight to within the recommended 25-35 pounds (versus the 60 I gained with Kwabena!), it will be easier to get myself “back” after delivery. One can only hope.
Well, off to do some major DUST OVERALL. OMG, this house is sooo dusty….Having vaulted ceilings doesn’t help…….
