Last night while Kwabena took an oatmeal bath (he’s been suffering from super dry, itchy skin), I was telling him, “Oh, no, I’ve got to find you some clean jammies, since you peed in the ones from last night….And I was supposed to wash your bedding and I forgot….” Kwabena looked me directly in the eye and said, “Stop worrying, Mommy.” OMG! He was so right, too–stop worrying, Mommy. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect. 🙂

Yesterday Kwabena and I were watching a Christmas movie on TV and he saw a commercial for Barbies or baby dolls. He said, “I don’t like baby dolls.” I couldn’t help but find out his reasoning for this, so I asked him, “How come?” He responded, “Because baby dolls are for girls. And I’m a boy.” I asked him, “So what do boys play with?” He said, “Cars and trucks.” I asked him, “So how did you come up with this [reasoning]?” He responded, “I don’t know, I just made it up!” LOL…Funny how kids develop this social construct without ever having been TOLD, per se, that boys play with THIS and girls play with THAT. Well, it’s evident from commercials and the boys and girls who play with the toys. But funny he should be so observant. 🙂
