Okay, I’m going to call it…I’m in early labor!! This evening around 9 p.m. I started feeling some contractions, and they’ve been coming fairly consistently every 10-15 minutes for the past 2.5 hours. WOO HOO! I had been wanting to see SOME sign of labor (e.g. a “show”), but other than the mounting pressure down below, I wasn’t feeling like it was time. You try to imagine all the scenarios to guesstimate when labor is going to start–would I be at work? Would I have to drive myself home? Would my water break at home? At the store? At work? I just didn’t know. But, if this is IT (and I believe it is), then this is ideal! Home on a Sunday evening! WOO!
I guess I should pack up my bag! LOL. I packed Ohene’s stuff, but not mine. I think now would be a good time, eh? 🙂
Tonight I watched some video of my labor with Kwabena. Man, I was da beast! I was rockin’ it out at 8 cm, unmedicated! I was even able to squeeze out a few words, to make sure Kwasi was recording 🙂 LOL. I can only hope that I am such a rock star this time around, especially with the slight worry in my head about the actual delivery and preventing a tear this time around, etc.
So anyhow, today was my 32nd birthday. Kwabena has been coming over to our room in the middle of the night, or very early in the a.m., and last night he came in around 1 a.m. This morning when he woke, the first words out of his mouth were a sleepy, “Happy Birthday, Mommy.” So awesome he remembered, AND the fact that it was the first thing he said! How adorable!
Kwasi took off work today from the shop, which was very nice just to have him around. Even Kwabena commented, “I like when Daddy stays home from work.” 🙂 We just hung around the house. Kwabena and I played with Play-Doh (making a Mrs. Ma’mopsie, LOL), as well as just watching some TV. Kwabena’s addicted to Lego TV on On Demand, and kept asking for it. It was too cute the way he was laughing at it.
Anyhow, better pack up some stuff, and get to bed! I think I will need all the rest I can get, especially if tonight is the night!
