On His Best Behavior

July 30, 2008 By Serena Leave a Comment

Miss Marilyn, Kwabena’s daycare provider, informed me that Kwabena has been waking up before some of the other kids and disrupting their sleep by wanting to play in his bed…..on their bed…..running around….etc. She said that overall, he is a good listener, but when it comes to naptime, he challenges her.

So I sat him down and had a talk to him, telling him he must stay on his own bed and not play with toys during nap time. He earnestly looked at me and nodded at the appropriate times.

I had several talks with him, reminding him of appropriate naptime behavior, so that he didn’t “forget” our talk.

It worked! Miss Marilyn reported that he did very well during naptime, and when he was awoken by another baby’s hunger cries, he simply hugged his stuffed bear and went back to sleep.

Awwww…..we’ll see how he does today…..
