Yesterday Kwabena and I went to the Wings of Fancy butterfly exhibit. What an amazing day! The weather was gorgeous (but very hot, at 91 degrees–YIKES!!). I had been wanting to take him for some time, and luckily was able to take him before it ended.
We walked in and there were hundreds of butterflies everywhere! Exotic pieces of art that only nature could produce so eloquently… Kwabi was very excited to gently reach out and touch their wings until they fluttered away.
After the exhibit, we walked (er–ran is more like it) around the expansive, beautiful acreage of gardens. The land was just breathtaking! I had been there several years ago, but had forgotten what an expansive, serene place it was and how suitable it was to take a child as active as Kwabi. LOL We had such a great time!
We ran through open fields…climbed rocks and trees…walked underneath beautiful weeping willlows that looked like little hide-aways underneath…found frogs hidden in crevices of trees…peered into the ponds to see the biggest turtles ever…
And the funniest thing was when we came upon a hut on display, made of straw….we walked inside and Kwabi kept commenting, “Blow the house down!” but it took me a second to realize what he was saying. OMGm he was right!! It looked exactly like the little pig’s house made a straw! LOL So he demanded, “Blow it down, Mommy!” I told him I could not, because I was not a big bad wolf 🙂 Awwww…….
Anyhow, here are just SOME of the pictures we took yesterday!

On the go, like always…..

Even the mushrooms were beautiful 🙂
