SOLD!

November 20, 2010 By Serena Leave a Comment

Yesterday we officially sold our condo!! It had been a hectic week. We were supposed to close on Friday, November 12th, but our buyer, this girl named Tabitha, had some other paperwork that she needed to submit to underwriting, and so we got notice the day before closing that closing was not going to happen until the following week, Friday, November 19th, at the very latest.

Vanda was soooo upset. I was upset, yes, because we had everything nearly packed up and put away in the PODS container, and then to find out we weren’t closing….. So the next week was full of extensions, where we were trying to close on Monday, November 15th, and even was told that by the loan officer, only to be held up until this Thursday, the 19th.

I was actually okay with that, because it gave us a little more time to get things cleared out. The only stipulation was that we needed to close on the condo first (by the 24th at the latest) so that we could close on the new house on time. I knew everything would be fine. But Vanda was so negative! She called it being realistic and making sure I knew what all the outcomes would be. But no, she was negative in a sense that allll the way things could go wrong. Me, on the other hand, I felt that things would be okay. And they were 🙂

Even driving to Rockville, to Michael’s Title, Vanda sent an email about the corrected loan documents (they tried to run the numbers with 6% closing instead of 5%) and how they had to run it through an approval real quick and how “we might not go to closing now!” I just disregarded her email and kept it moving….. She’s so dramatic, jeez.

Anyhow, everything went over without a hitch! We signed the papers, gave the keys over, and then I left, feeling very elated and relieved! Things just aren’t selling in the Vineyards, so to finally sell….It felt wonderful!

So right now, we’re here at Kwasi’s mom’s house until we are ready to settle on our new house. We’re scheduled for closing on Tuesday, November 30th, and after that, our furniture and stuff will be delivered on Thursday, Dec. 2nd. I was going to schedule delivery on Saturday, Dec. 4th, but realized that the sooner it comes, the sooner we can start unloading. Even though it will be easier to remove wallpaper and stuff with cleared out rooms, we can still can move some things in to the middle of the rooms. I would rather get the stuff unpacked than to delay getting it in.

I’m excited to move!

So in all this….there are the kiddies. All this time I have been asking Kwabena how he feels about moving, and he says that he is fine. But this past week, and part of last week, his behavior at daycare wasn’t good. He’s been doing really well there, so to suddenly start having problems, well, he must have been acting out. The other night I finally got out of him that he IS sad about leaving. And tonight I asked him if he misses our hold house, he said yes, and that the water here at Nana Ba’s house tastes different (LOL; from the faucet when he brushes his teeth). He said he misses his bedroom. Poor thing….I try to explain to him why he will love his new house, but like Miss Marilyn told him, he won’t quite love it until he gets there. Then he will learn to love it and be happy there.

He will be fine, though. 🙂

Ohene is doing very well! The little guy is walking all over the place now! Still hard to believe I had him only 11 short months ago!He understands so much, too! Tonight I was feeding him a piece of veggie sausage and I gave him half of it. He bit into it and drew back from the heat. I tol him, “You have to blow on it. See?” And then I blew on it. I asked him, “Can you blow on it, too?” Well, the little guy called himself “blowing” on it by blowing a raspberry with his teeth and tongue. Then he looked at me and laughed! It was so freakin’ cute!!!

Well, I’m exhausted tonight. I don’t think I’ll be able to hang for too long…..
