I realize that there are so many little tidbits of things I miss, or fail to report or document, so let me take a moment to document some little tidbits that I find interesting:
- Kwabena likes me to scrape the gunk off of his teeth after I brush them, along with cleaning the wax out of his ears (crazy kid). Last night I was done scraping and picking, and he sleepily encouraged me to keep going because “there’s more.” I responded, “So you like me to pick your teeth and ears, huh. Why?” He said, “Because it relaxes me.” HA! Where does this kid learn is language?! He’s so frickin’ grown in the things he says.
- Kwabena’s got the biggest attitude around. He does this shuffling of his head from side to side when he’s tellin’ someone like it is, statin’ his piece, and swinging his little arm for emphasis. Man….he’s only 3.5 years old. I wonder how sassy he is going to be when he’s, like, 13??
- Ohene has the cutest little grunts and coos! As I mentioned before, his nickname is Mr. Grunt. I plan to embroider a little t-shirt for him with “Mr. Grunt” on the front. 🙂 Also, he’s become a bit more cognizant of his surroundings. He actually makes eye contact here and there, and will smile a bit! He particularly likes when I do “Patty Cake” with him; he’ll get this little smirk on his face. So cute!
- It’s so cute when Ohene cries! I’m sure most people don’t describe a baby’s cry as “cute,” but he’s got this little lip that pokes out when he’s unhappy, and it’s the more adorable thing! It reminds me of Kwabena’s bottom lip, and a look that Kwabena used to make when he was a baby, too.
- Kwabena is 43 and 3/4″ tall! I took that measurement on 1/1/10. Hard to believe he’s so big. Yesterday we saw Kwasi’s cousin and her kid’s, one of which is 2 weeks younger than Kwabena, I believe. And the size difference was staggering! Even the verbal difference was evident. I can’t believe how advanced and bigger Kwabena is than most kids his age. I wonder how Ohene will be? I think he’ll be similar in size. What about personality? I don’t know if I can handle TWO rambunctious boys! LOL
- Kwabena is very keen to “bad words” and is QUICK to point out to you when he overhears one! For example, if he hears someone say “shit” he will interject and say, “OOOooohhh! You said a bad word! You said ‘shit’!” For some reason, he thinks he needs to repeat the word in order to get his point across. LOL
