Walking (Almost!)

September 24, 2010 By Serena Leave a Comment

My little Boo-Boo Shanti walked for me tonight, using Kwabena’s old walking truck/ride-on toy! I didn’t give it to him to try because I felt for sure it would roll too slippery over the hardwood floors. But when I got home tonight, Kwasi was like, “Hey, Ohene can walk with the walker thing!” And sure enough, there he went! It was so cute! I got it on camera. I’ll try to upload it here if I can.

The other night we had a showing (which didn’t pan out because the stupid guy said he loved it but it was too far from where he wanted to be….didn’t he know that beforehand?? Didn’t he check Google Maps?). Anyhow, we ended up going to TGIFridays for dinner. It was nice getting out. It was so funny when we taught Kwabena how to do spit balls, and I was sitting there talking to Kwasi, and Kwabena spit this huge spit ball on my face and it got stuck right over the left side of my lip! HAHA! We all laughed out loud! 🙂

Anyhow, tonight we went looking at homes (hoping that we get a contract after dropping out condo to $195,000 yesterday, from $199,999). We found one we really loved! It’s located at 14229 Cribbage Terrace, here in Silver Spring, 20905. It was 4 huge bedrooms, and a huge basement, one side finished, the other side not. But it was sooo much space! I loved it! The elementary school is really good, but the middle and high school were so-so. But I really think I want to submit a contract on it. Kwasi really loved it too. Didn’t have a huge yard, the way I had hoped. However, I do realize that inside living space is much more important than outdoor space. As mom pointed out to me, we’ll be living INSIDE. And we do need to make sure that we can grow into it.

The other hand we really like is 408 Wompatuck, Silver Spring, 20905. The schools are good there, too. And there is much more outdoor space. And it has all the compartments that we want and need: four bedrooms, although not super large…sewing room, office, play area for the kids. But then again, the Cribbage home has waaaayyy more space, and I like that.

I’m going to take this evening to think about what we want to do, and then submit an offer on one of those 2 homes. Which one would be best? I’m not excited about the Cribbage home, because it’s tons more space inside. Not as much outside, but inside, yes. Room to grow, maybe even have another baby. The Wompatuck home is situated nicely, but a bit smaller inside. I really love the open layout of Cribbage.

Sooo…….contract, contract, contract!
