This morning…..
SCENARIO: Kwabi woke up in our bed this a.m. and for some unknown reason, during his playing and singing while I tried to shake off sleep, he smacked Kwasi twice on the chest. When I told him not to do that, he pressed his luck by trying to lightly hit (tap) me….. Disregarding my warning of a timeout, he did it to me again. I immediately put him in timeout in his rocking chair for 2 minutes. No crying, no whining…and just as happy and playful when his 2 minutes were up.
A bit later, Kwasi woke up.
ME: “Good morning, Daddy. Kwabi got put in timeout this morning. Kwabi, tell Daddy why you went to timeout?”
KWABI: [crickets churping….no response].
ME: “Kwabi, what did you do with your hands this morning?”
KWABI: “Nuffin’!”
LOL!
When did he learn how to respond with “nuffin'”…..???!!! WOW….our little boy is becoming a big boy (with big lies, too!)
