Tonight I realized that I haven’t been posting as much as before. Even in my own Word file “blog book” that I’ll have printed (i.e. Part II) at the end of this year (when Ohene turns 1 year old), I haven’t been posting much. Honestly, since I got my new HTC Google Smart Phone, it’s so convenient to check messages there, that there is no need to even log into my computer anymore. Thus, my blogging has been suffering.
At work when I used to put in posting time, I have lost some of that time, too. I’ve been Miss Chatty Cathy at work, so time when I used to be shootin’ the shit, I am now chatting with coworkers or doing some other inappropriate, time-wasting activities. LOL
I’m going to do better. I promise.
So, this weekend was super fun! Friday night Kwasi and I went to a surprise birthday party for his friend, Carlos, who turned 45. It was a helluva drive to Ft. Washington from our house, but well worth it. We met new people, had fun conversations, drank wine, and Carlos’ fiance showed us how to Zumba! LOL, I loved how Kwasi told me the next day that I looked hot doing the zumba….and that my jeans “did wonders” for my booty. Um….I think that last statement was a compliment….? “Doing wonders” for my body sounds like I needed a miracle. LOL Oh well….I’ll take it:

On Saturday, I headed home to Hagerstown for a family get-together, “reunion.” The idea to have one came after the holidays when my aunt and I realized that we never get together outside of the holidays. And during Christmas everyone has other family to visit, so there are always gaps. Well, this weekend we made it happen. Everyone was there, minus some of the cousins. But it was a great turn-out! I hadn’t seen my grandmother in a good–2 years maybe? Year and a half, perhaps? And my cousin, Danielle, it had been 3+ years since I had seen her. She and I talked regularly on Yahoo! Chat, but just hadn’t seen each other since I was pregnant with Kwabena.
We arrived a little late, because Camryn, my niece, had her first baseball game. It was freezing cold outside! Crazy how it was 86 on Friday, and then dropped to low 50’s and windy on Saturday:
Kwabena had such a good time! He ran around and played with Camryn and a couple of the other little kids there. Aunt Les and Uncle Tim, where the party was held, owned a trampoline. And OMG…..If you’ve never been on a trampoline, you HAVE to try it! It was awesome! Being on the ground afterwards, your body feels so heavy. The effect of gravity is weird. I have been wanting to get a mini trampoline for the house, for exercise purposes, so I am even more convinced that we’ll be getting one, with a stability bar, of course:
Ohene and my nephew, Trey
Me and my cousin, Danielle, who’s 7 months pregnant!
Danielle and her son, Nathan, almost 5 years old:
My handsome 15-year old nephew, Trey:
I still can’t believe Trey has outgrown me like this….Where has the time gone??
On Sunday we met up with Heidi, Isabella, and Aiden, from my mom’s group. We usually get together at least once every 2-3 months. It was fun! Last time we’d gotten together was when Ohene was just a few weeks old or so. We met up at Cheesecake Factory, like usual, and chatted about the kids, and such. So nice having her as a friend! 🙂 Afterward, we walked through the mall and I bought Kwabena a watch, which he has asked for repeatedly this weekend. LOL
On the way outside of mall, Kwabena noticed this hot bike and stopped to check it out. The guy was totally cool in offering to let Kwabena sit on it. Hell, yeah! Kodak moment, too:

Baby Ohene and Baby Aiden! Awake and alert together, finally!
Today in the car when we arrived home. I have the coolest son ever 😉
